Introduction to Singapore International Schools

International schools in Singapore generally adopt the IB curriculum, and the IB Diploma is widely recognized as a top global qualification. It is highly valued by leading universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, Princeton, and Harvard, often giving students strong admission advantages. The diploma is accepted by nearly a thousand universities worldwide, making it an ideal starting point for students planning to study in Europe or the United States.

In 2023, more than 1,800 candidates took the IB Diploma examinations in Singapore. The pass rate reached 94.7% (compared with the global rate of 79.35%), and the average score was 37.76, far above the global average of 29.06.

International schools emphasize developing students’ independent learning skills and use inquiry‑based teaching methods similar to university education. Field trips and community participation are also counted as part of students’ academic performance. Today, the IB Diploma is recognized by nearly 1,000 universities, including world‑class institutions such as Harvard, Cambridge, and Oxford, and this recognition continues to grow.

It boasts a rich campus and state-of-the-art educational facilities. Renowned for its high-quality international education, UWCSEA is widely recognized as one of the leading international schools in Singapore and globally. UWCSEA offers education from kindergarten to grade 12. It provides the IGCSE curriculum for grades 9 and 10 and the IB Diploma curriculum for grades 11 and 12.

    Dulwich College (DCS) is one of the oldest private schools in the UK. Its Singapore branch was established in 2014 and is located in Bukit Batok, in western Singapore. The school offers a comprehensive education from preschool to high school, emphasizing holistic development in academics, arts, and sports. DCS enrolls students from kindergarten to Year 13. The school offers the IGCSE curriculum for Years 10 and 11 and the IB Diploma curriculum for Years 12 and 13.

Spanning 36 acres in Woodlands, northern Singapore, its state-of-the-art facilities make it one of the world's largest non-profit schools.     Tanglin Trust School, located in Singapore and founded in 1925, provides a British education to the local international community. Situated on Portsdown Road in central Singapore, the school boasts state-of-the-art facilities. Students range in age from 3 to 18 and come from 54 countries. The school comprises kindergarten, primary, secondary, and high school levels, each with its own campus and facilities. TTS offers the British curriculum from kindergarten to Year 13, IGCSE and GCSE courses for Years 10 and 11, and IB Diploma or A-Level courses for Years 12 and 13. One of TTS's distinctive features is its college system, which divides students into four different colleges, where points are awarded based on extracurricular activities or academic performance. Furthermore, the school provides a school bus service covering the entire island.

The school culture combines ambitious developmental education with exceptional humanistic care, truly valuing each individual. NLCS Singapore officially began enrollment in 2020. Located in Queenstown, Singapore, the school boasts state-of-the-art facilities. NLCS offers courses from kindergarten to Year 12. Years 1-5 follow the International Primary Curriculum, Years 6-10 follow the IB Secondary Curriculum with IGCSE exams in Year 10, and Years 11-12 follow the IB Diploma Curriculum.
